About Samantha
The Person Behind the Lens:
My favorite daily activity is listening to music (and singing along poorly). In fact, you can find me on Spotify while doing most all of my daily tasks, be it housework or photo editing. Even in my free time, I'm probably watching music videos of my favorite artists.
When there is a break from work and school, I enjoy taking fall time road trips with my family; especially to the coast. I love watching the colorful scenery as we drive, and the changing weather. The slower pace at the coast is calming and I'm grateful for the time to relax with my family. I also get to wander about the beaches and parks looking for interesting things to capture with my camera. I can spend hours with my macro lens taking close ups of sand, rocks, flowers, and any sort of creature I can find. However, my favorite subjects are my family (when I can convince them). Photography, while it may also be my job, is still my most passionate hobby.
I fell in love with photography in High School while using my moms camera from her own High School days. While that camera may now be retired from duty, and I continue to evolve along with photographic standards, the fundamental knowledge of photography that I learned back then will always stay with me. I often look at that old film camera proudly displayed in my home and reflect on where I began, and how lucky I am to have made my way to where I am now.
Instead of finding peace while developing in a dark room, I now find my peace while editing in my office. The process may not be the same anymore, but creating a meaningful and beautiful image will always bring me the greatest satisfaction.
